About Me

I’m Melissa Schubert, and it is a pleasure to meet you! 

Because you are here, you must need proofreading or editing of some sort, and I am here to help you reach that goal to achieve excellence—one line at a time!

I have been proofreading and editing papers for as long as I can remember. Of course I have edited my own personal writing my entire life. At the tender age of seven, I published my first poem, so that is where my proofreading journey actually began. 

Since then I have edited thousands of pieces of writing—not only my own but also the writing of my family, friends, and students (I have been an English teacher for thirty years now). Now that my four children are venturing out into the world (after MANY papers edited by Mom :)), I have a passion to dive into others’ writing to make it excellent as well.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood and elementary education, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, and I am currently certified to teach English (K-9) here in Palm Beach County. I am a member of the ACES Society for Editing, a graduate of the General Proofreading: Theory and Practice™ Proofread Anywhere Ignite course, and I am currently completing the Copyediting Standards Course with Queen’s University Professional Studies to hone my skills further. 

When I am not proofreading, I can be found running, sunning, reading, and socializing here in sunny Jupiter, Florida. I am married to my best friend, Jason, and mom to my four precious children. And I would love to add your project to my schedule to help you achieve excellence—one line at a time!
