Proofreading includes the correction of typos, double words, and misspellings, as well as editing for any grammatical, punctuation, and formatting errors. Copyediting
Copyediting takes place after developmental and content editing and before the proofreading process. This service includes the correction of basic writing mechanics: grammar, punctuation, word usage, noun/verb agreement, consistency, and syntax. Additionally, your writing will be evaluated for style, smooth flow of thought, and clarity to prepare it for the final step of editing - proofreading.
Rates & Time Frames
Every piece of writing is unique, as is every client. Brightlines offers a quote that is tailored to each project based on the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) suggested editorial rates. Once you have expressed your needs, you will receive a clear, non-binding quote. After agreement is made on the rate for your project, editing will commence. On completion of the work, you will receive an invoice to be paid within fourteen days.
Depending on availability and the size and scope of your project, Brightlines offers proofreading in a relatively short time frame. Please communicate your preferred deadline, and the project will move forward based on your requested time frame.
